Disc Dogs and Auditing my Time

I didn’t write yesterday. I had intended to write a post every day, but I realize that’s not always possible. At least not and keep up some semblance of worthwhile reading.

I returned to using a Monk Manual – not the actual journal which is quite pricey, but on my iPad. Taking this from their website, it’s “built on monk principles. Monks are the most productive people in the world. They know that productivity isn’t about doing more things. It’s about doing the most important things well, and eliminating the rest.”

There’s a lot to be said of that – I spend more time, I think, spinning my wheels and worrying about what I’m not getting done all the while taking part in doom scrolling – or – just as bad – binge watching television. Both of which are a freaking waste of time.

Yesterday I set aside blocks of time to do this that and the other thing and amazingly I stayed pretty close to the schedule. I got home from the disc dog practice – which I’m so enjoying – including photographing the dogs. It was tough. The light was horrifically contrasty. Like any action – it takes a while to figure it out and it was windy so the discs were going every which way. I got some decent ones.

Back to the Monk Manual and other stuff. I attended a live call through That Photography Spot on goal setting. One of the things that was recommended was taking part in PMA Central – which a photographer I very much admire is heading up. She swears by it. I did it a few times in the section, but because they’re in UK time and I’m not so sure I like typing it – I keep my iPad with me pretty much all the time and enjoy handwriting things – I decided to go back to the Monk Manual which is very similar.

Anyway – this is day two of scheduling. We’ll see how close I am to it today.

Until later …
